About pichwai and General Details

what is Pichwai ? Pichwai is a very old and tradition art form of Rajasthan, India. we are one of the oldest family who is doing this art of pichwai in rajasthan. our family is doing this painting from last 80 years. this is our third generation who is doing this art.

Pichwai is a devotional painting which is dedicated to lord krishna. Lord krishna is a symbol of love, peace and affection.

we use natural stone colors which we make at home from the natural stones. the process of making stone colors is also very unique and it takes long time to crush the natural stone, and convert it into liquid color. you can see the images at our shop how we make the colors and paintings. It needs lots of patience and knowledge to make it.

we use the real gold color also in some paintings which is made from real Gold. There are 2 ways by which we use the real gold. One, Real gold foil and another real gold powder. This process of making gold foil and gold powder from the real gold is also very unique and time taking process.

Infact very few people knows this process of making natural stone colors and gold color. we are always happy to teach this process to the current generation so that it does not die. many students comes to us to learn the paintings and process of making colors. my father has toughed more than 100 students till now who are now doing good work and keeping this tradition alive.
